Some of the Metro and Metrobus stations you should know:

Metro, there are 3 lines that conect with downtown:

Line 1 (Pink- Observatorio- Pantitlan): Takes you west to east both ways, passing by downtown. Stations Isabela Catolica, Salto del Agua and Balderas.

Line 2 (Green- Universidad- Indios Verdes): Takes you south to north both ways crossing downtown. Stations Salto del Agua, Juarez and Hidalgo.

Line 3 (Blue- Taxqueña- Cuatro Caminos): Takes you south to north and turns to west right in downtown, crossing downtown both ways. Stations Pino Suarez, Zocalo, Allende, Bellas Artes, and Hidalgo. This line will take you every where in downtown.

Metrobus, there are 2 lines that conect with downtown:

Linea 3 (Green): Tenayuca- Etiopia: service starting a litle before 5:00 oclock and finishing between 23:30 to 24:00 hrs. The stations that stop right in downtown are Balderas, Juarez and Hidalgo, you can also conect in this stations with the Metro System.

Linea 4 (Yellow): Buena Vista- San Lazaro: service starting a litle before 5:00 oclock and finishing between 23:30 to 24:00 hrs. This line makes a loop covering the downtown area all the way to San Lazaro, if you start from any station surrounding The Revolution Monument you can go all the way to the Las Crucer and/or Teatro del Pueblo Stations and you’ll stay in the tourist attractions area. This line also takes you to the airport with a fee of 30 pesos. The stations that stop right in downtown are Plaza de la Republica, Glorieta Colón, Expo Reforma, Vocacional 5, Puente de Alvarado, Museo de San Carlos, Juarez, Hidalgo, Juarez, Hidalgo, Bellas Artes, Plaza San Juan, Eje Central, El Salvador, Isabela Catolica, Museo de la Ciudad, Las Cruces, Teatro Blanquita, Rep. del Chile, Rep. de Argentina, Teatro del Pueblo… you can also connect in some of this stations with the Metro System.

Be ware of the rush hours, that will depend on your starting pint, but the regular work ahours will indicate you when you shouldn’t try to get to downtown in public transportation. is better if you start at 9 or 10 am. Skip the lunch hours between 2 and 4 pm and at night between 6:30 to 9 pm.
